Hello from Snowflake!
Snowflake is a White Polish hen.
Polish chickens have puffs of feathers on their heads. Hens usually have mushroom shaped caps and roosters have longer feathers on their heads which are often ‘swept back’ and not as compact as a hens. Polish hens lay medium-sized, white, pointed eggs. Snowflake is a sweet, polite hen who lives in Colonel Sanders’ coop with someof our oldest hens, Suzie Q. and Ebba Egger.
The Adventures of Brownie and Cupcake
Brownie and Cupcake discussing lunch plans.
Brownie (right) & Cupcake (left) are two Speckled Sussex pullets, who arrived at the farm in summer of 2020 as two little chicks. A pullet is a young hen. Because they didn’t know anyone else when they got here, they stuck together like glue. They still do. Brownie is a little larger than Cupcake and she protects her sister. They sleep together in the top bunk of the ‘Taj MaCoop’. From this vantage point they can watch all the other chickens milling around at night. Stay tuned for more of thier adventures……
